Since 1987, PARAS has been offering gamma irradiation services to pharmaceutical firms and the medical disposable manufacturing industry, both domestically and internationally. Electron Beam

The first 10 MeV 20 kW Electron Beam plant installed by ATCOP is located in PARAS Lahore and started operations on 1st January 2023. High-energy electrons are used in the electron beam (E-Beam) irradiation technique for a number of purposes. E-beam irradiation processing is frequently used for material modification, contaminant control, and medical device sterilization.

High energy electrons are used in the procedure as the source of radiation. A linear accelerator is used to accelerate the electrons—which are created by regular electrical current—to almost the speed of light. When combined with 20 kW of power, the resultant 10 million electron volts (MeV) of energy is strong enough to pierce a variety of materials. This technology has made a name for itself as a versatile and quick method of sterilizing medications and medical equipment because to the greater energy available from next generation equipment. Additionally, the E-beam procedure is employed to prevent contamination in toiletries, cosmetics, and packaging.
